Professional Background

My training began dually as a Clinical Psychologist (University of Barcelona, 1996) and a Contemporary Dance Performer (since 1988). Subsequently, driven by my deep interest in mental health, human relationships, emotions, and the mind-body connection, I trained as a Psychotherapist (University of Barcelona, 1997-2000) and later as a Dance Movement Therapy Practitioner (Autonomous University of Barcelona, 2002-2005).

I have worked as a self-employed professional in private practice and in various institutions since the year 2000. I have extensive experience as a psychotherapist and dance movement therapist, conducting individual therapy with adults presenting with mood disorders, anxiety, social/relational difficulties, life crises, and other general issues. As a dance movement therapist, I also work with women during pregnancy and early motherhood, with children and families, and I organise Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) and Authentic Movement groups for adults interested in developing their self-awareness through movement and body awareness.

Furthermore, I work as a trainer, lecturer, co-therapist, and DMT supervisor in various institutions and universities. For 8 years, I was part of the team for the Master’s in Dance Movement Therapy at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, serving as co-responsible for student supervision groups, lecturer, co-therapist in experiential groups, and tutor.

Therapeutic Approach

My perspective on psychotherapy and DMT is integrative, incorporating aspects of relational psychoanalysis, humanistic psychology, and family/systemic theory. I conceive of therapy as a safe, non-judgmental space where I engage with the person in meaningful conversations about their inner world, their view of themselves, and their relationships with others, both in the present and the past. We work together with their feelings, dreams, thoughts, and intuitions to help them express, understand, and sometimes make conscious sense of what hurts or is difficult, transforming those aspects they wish to change.
In DMT, both with adults and children, these ‘conversations’ happen through words, but also through movement, play, and body language in general.
