FAQ
What does it mean to be a NEST member?
Primarily, NEST is a peer supervision group for professional mental health practitioners, conducted in English. Joining NEST signifies a willingness to both contribute to and benefit from this supervision. Applicants who do not have availability to attend NEST’s supervision sessions are not accepted.
What is NEST looking for in new members?
Applicants must be accredited mental health professionals. Our meetings and communication are conducted in English, and therefore a high level of spoken and written English is required. We are a multidisciplinary team, and all of us have a traditional background in psychology, psychotherapy, or psychiatry which underpins our professional practice.
How can I become a member of NEST?
PLEASE NOTE: NEST is not currently accepting new members during the 2025-2026 academic year.
NEST approaches the admission of new members in a rigorous and professional manner. Firstly, the applicant must send their curriculum vitae and their accreditation to practise psychology, psychotherapy, or psychiatry to our application coordinator. After analysing the CV, they are called for an initial interview and are then invited to give a half-hour presentation to the rest of the group about their professional background, training, and field of study, as well as a specific clinical case to illustrate their way of working. The group will then vote privately on the acceptance of the applicant as an “associate member” of NEST.
What happens once I am accepted?
During the first year as an “associate member” of NEST, you will be assigned a mentor, who will ensure you are settling into NEST. During this period, the associate member benefits partially from NEST’s publicity. At the end of the first year as an associate member, they can decide if they wish to become a full member of NEST, subject to a vote by the group.
I am looking for work in the field of psychology; can NEST help me?
As it is not a clinic, NEST does not hire professionals to participate in NEST.
I need supervision for my clinical training; can I attend the sessions?
NEST members benefit from peer-to-peer clinical supervision, but NEST does not offer supervision to students. NEST members are qualified and may offer clinical supervision to students, according to their individual fees.
Why can't I find NEST on Google Maps?
NEST is not a clinic but a network of therapists in private practice, who meet for clinical supervision. Each member has their own professional address and contact details.
